Fear Base Society

In today's world we worry about everything, food, jobs, clothing, shelter, children, husbands, etc. But what does the Bible say about fear and what shall I fear. First lets look at Psalms 111:10 it says; The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. All who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. I would like to think that all people want a good understanding of things. So I guess the first step is fear the Lord and follow his precepts for understanding. Some might ask, well how do we fear the Lord.

Look at Proverbs 8:10 it says Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion. To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have understanding and power.

Now look at Proverbs 9:10 it says The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through me you days will be many, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if are a mocker, you alone will suffer. Look at Proverbs 14:27 it says The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death. It is also said in Proverbs 15:3 it says The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor. At Proverbs 16:6 it says Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord a man avoids evil.

Lets look at Proverbs 14:1 it says The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down. He whose walk is upright fears the Lord, but he whose ways are devious despises him. Look further at verse 12 it says There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death.

Take a look at Luke at 12:4 it says I tell you, my friends do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Look at Luke 12: 15 it says Then he said to them, Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions. Jesus teaches us to love one another. Look at 1John 4:16 it says And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Look at what is says in Psalms 34:4 it says I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Now look at Proverbs 31:30 it says Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. In the book of Isaiah 41:10 it says So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

To conclude Look at Philippians 2:12 it says Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence-continue to work out you salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Love Always,
Your Sister in Christ,
